Four of us club members went diving in Hawaii this September. When we had originally started to plan this trip we had hoped to be able to see an active volcano and flowing lava. However, before we got there the volcano which had been erupting continuously for 34 years decided to stop! Not to worry, we still had a good trip wandering around Big Island and spending a week on the Aggressor liveaboard.
The liveaboard was very comfortable with only 12 guests and had a lovely crew and a great chef. Diving was very pleasant, warm and relaxing amongst a good variety of tropical fish and hard corals. Although there wasn’t much big stuff we did see a few mantas, a couple of turtles and one sleeping reef shark. Overall, an enjoyable trip.
Thanks to Geoff for the photos and trip report.
