Dive Planning Meeting

We have booked the function room at the Churchdown Club for Tuesday 5th December to hold our Dive Planning Meeting where we will look at booking in next year’s activities. The meeting will start at 7:30 and we would really like as many of you to be there as possible please.

I have said in previous emails how well the club has been doing recently and Des mentioned at the AGM that we have completed approximately 1000 dives in the last year (probably more!!).

This is fantastic and I would like to thank everyone who not only organised these trips but those who took part also. Without either party, there would be no trip so ………. THANK YOU!!

Having pointed out how many trips/dives went on last year I would also like to point out that only 6, yes 6, people turned up to last year’s meeting!!!! Imagine what we could have achieved if more people had been there? I would just like to clarify at this point that coming to the meeting does not commit you to running a trip – just turning up and expressing an interest in going to a particular place to dive may inspire others to run that trip. You could offer to research accommodation or places to eat for a trip that someone else is already running just for example. There are many ways to help without running a trip completely. If, however, you would like to organise a trip but do not quite feel confident enough to do this by yourself, there will be people at the meeting who can help you and guide you through the whole process.

If you are a Sports Diver it would be great experience for you, and if you are a Dive Leader (or trainee) pretty much necessary for you to start organising trips.  Of course everyone, regardless of qualification, is welcome to do some organising if they wish.

We will also be going for a curry afterwards and you are all more than welcome to join.
