Teignmouth/Brixham

As you may have noticed from the dive planning calendar I am proposing to run a trip out of Teignmouth on the above dates using Cotswold Diver.

We are already blessed with Ian willing to tow the rib to Teignmouth but could someone volunteer to be ‘chief’ boaty for the weekend?

(This will NOT preclude you from diving as there will be others on the rib that have passed rya 2 and Ian will have completed his intermediate powerboat course by then.)

But I digress!

Diving out of Teignmouth gives us the whole of the Torbay area to dive in. No dive sites have been selected yet but there are numerous wrecks and reefs to explore such as the Emmstrom, Galicia, and the Orestone with its swim through and pretty wall dives…There is also plenty of scope for shore diving at Babbacombe and of course off the famous Brixham breakwater should that appeal too.

Accommodation on the English Riviera is too numerous to mention and includes camping, caravan sites, bed and breakfast and of course hotels. People can book whatever they feel most comfortable with but I am planning on also utilising the club bbq on the Sat evening (summer weather allowing) so it would be great if everyone booked close enough to Teignmouth to come along and make an evening of it?

There is an air station in Teignmouth at the Teign dive centre so bringing loads of cylinders will not be needed although you will need at least 2 to conduct a days diving as we won’t have time to refill between dives when the rib comes back in.

This weekend is aimed at the whole club and so ocean divers and above are welcome.

A non-refundable deposit (unless someone takes your place) of only £20 will be required to book onto the trip. Towing and rib fuel costs and rib parking/mooring will be calculated closer to the event and the split thereafter is subject to numbers on the trip.
