RIB Training Day

In preparation for what will hopefully be a year where we maximise use of the clubs RIB, there will be a RIB training day held at one of the lakes in the Cotswold water park near Cirencester on Sunday 12th March.

The day will include familiarisation training for RIB drivers and also diver training for the club’s divers.

10am – 11am – This first hour will be for people likely to be RIB drivers or who are happy to help out.  The hour will be run by Richard G and will include familiarisation on the RIB along with start and end of day maintenance tasks.

11am – 2pm – Time to get wet!!  The RIB will be available for divers to “experience” and to practice getting in and out of on the water.  You can bring your dive kit if you want to or just your dry suit will be sufficient.

2pm – 3pm – Recover RIB and prep for transport.

The lake is large enough for us to keep out the way of everyone else and deep enough for a diver to bob around while waiting for pick up again.  There are changing rooms on site with showers and I will be taking the club BBQ.  Bryan has kindly offered to tow the RIB and launch it.

To cover the cost of transporting the RIB, access to the lake and food for the BBQ, we are asking for a contribution of £5 from those who attend.  This is an ideal opportunity for those who have not used the RIB before to have a go and for those that have, to just have a play 🙂

If you are interested in attending this day, then please can you let Ian know by email.
